Valentine Notes 2.14

Happy Valentines Day!

My kids (with the help of my husband) surprised me this morning with a card and box of chocolates, right after I had spent thirty seconds berating said husband about how I like holidays like Valentines Day, and how even though he proves his love for me throughout the year and he shouldn’t have to prove it on one particular day that Hallmark picked out*, I still like that kind of stuff. I was ready to spend my day all grumpy, and he ruined it. RUINED!**

I have a surprise ready for my kids in return. Cards for each, and a food-related gift for each as well. I probably shouldn’t encourage the consumption of sugar, but I have – a box of chocolate covered strawberries for my daughter (huge ones – yum), and a matching set of red velvet cookies from Panera for my son. I turned down a box at the store this morning, but I may go back and pick one up later. In the end, though, it’s all about the cookies, not the container. I think the bags will be okay.

In other news, I’m looking for a gym. I have three similarly priced options, and I’m leaning toward the unknown one. The one that isn’t even open yet. The one without a pool and without a daycare, but that does have unlimited hours for a reasonable price. DH wants me to try his gym first, but we haven’t gotten that done yet, and I don’t want to wait too much longer before signing up somewhere. Thoughts?

With Camp NaNoWriMo and the A to Z Blogging Challenge coming up, I’m starting to panic a bit that I haven’t got my chapters plotted out better. I did have the idea that I should squeeze the entire story into 24 hours, with a prologue and epilogue to get the extra two days taken care of. It might make the whole thing harder, but it sounds fun.
