I just went to see 2012 at the local theater, and it was pretty awesome. I missed going to movies in real movie theaters, as opposed to the huge multiplexes that are being built these days. While I’ll probably never give up RAVE, The ROXY Theatre is my new favorite haunt.

The popcorn even tastes different. It was cold, and I could tell that they’d made it while the last film was playing and then let it sit, but the butter was good. Maybe it was fake butter, but it tasted real to me.

And the seats were tiny! I doubt everyone could be comfortable there. When I sat, I’m sorry to say, my sweatshirt, shirt and tee all rode up, and I was squished in the whole time. But that’s what makes it real!

There was an organ and a pit, so they probably used to do stage productions there. There was no balcony, and I’m sure things wouldn’t have looked nearly as nice in brighter lights. But under the circumstances, it was perfect!

I took advantage of waiting in line and Tweeted a bit before I got to my seat. And I had to get up twice to pee, but I’m pretty sure I didn’t miss too much. I’m very glad I got to see that movie on the big screen
