Well, Monday is officially over. Thank goodness. After a week of crazy kids and no crazy coworkers, I was shocked back into reality on Sunday and Monday mornings by a faulty car, a backed up bathtub and a leaky sink. Woohoo!

Let’s just say “Oy,” shall we?

Well, at least the car issue has been dealt with. After years of crappy service from the place I recently bought I car from and had been getting my previous car serviced since we moved to Pennsylvania, I finally bit the bullet and said to hell with them, and I went somewhere else. Yes, it was another dealership, but their customer service was a million times better than before. Okay, thousands – we’ll be realistic, here. And while it wasn’t cheap (dealerships never are) I feel like I was treated pretty fairly. Next time I’ll be buying my own battery (in 6 years, after the parts and labor warranty expires – woohoo!), and if the ignition switch fails again, I’m going to raise some hell.

The leaky ceiling, well…I just don’t know. I’m going to make sure to get my shower first tomorrow and make sure I don’t run a lot of water so I don’t have to stand in ankle deep water (and prevent a ton of drips to the dining room), and hope that it’s enough.

Work on Monday went rather well, at least. I was kept busy, got rid of a particularly persistent problem, and needed to leave early to pick up my car from the shop. I made it home just in time to drop off my daughter when I got the phone call saying the meeting I was rushing my son off to was canceled for the night. It had just begun to snow and my destination had been on top of a mountain, so hey – no skin off my back.

So I’m back at work again, and trying desperately to get back out into the routine. It’s actually not going too badly. I mean, I’m here, aren’t I? :)
