Momentum – it’s a good thing. You’re getting ready for the race, you’ve done your preparation, you’re just ready for things to start. And then, something happens.
For me, it was a computer crash on Sunday morning. I had done my preparation for NaNoWriMo, and after taking my kids to Sunday School I was ready to start typing. Then, a virus notification popped up. I thought, if it won’t move to the virus vault and it won’t heal, then I need to remove it, right?
Even though the message says this removal can cause system instability? Sure!
Well, it meant it. Some memory errors and a Blue Screen of Death later, and my laptop wouldn’t boot anymore.
Argh.
Then Sunday night, my daughter developed a fever. So instead of heading off to work on Monday morning with 2000 words under my belt and my kid’s dropped off at daycare, I went to work having to go back home halfway there to get my laptop so a coworker could look at it, and my daughter in tow.
That threw off my mojo.
Sick and unexpected problems throw me off the best. If I’m on an exercise plan and I get a cold, you can forget it. I’ll likely never go back to it. What is the best way to overcome these obstacles?
