Well, I have 17 minutes of battery life, so this is just an update, not a really cool, thought provoking post. That will come tomorrow.
Today went well! I took the day off in case either of my kids had a complete meltdown on their first day of daycare and school, but it was totally unnecessary. There were no tears at dropoff, and both kids said they had lots of fun today. Yay! (Although my son, who got to go to the church just a few blocks from our new house on Sunday, said that he still liked church more than school. Too cute!)
So amidst my worrying, today, I cleaned, napped, unpacked, ran errands, and ferried kids around. I shopped at three stores, took three separate car trips, and probably unpacked all of three boxes before DH got home and started unpacking faster than I could think.
We obviously have very different methods to things. Which is why we make such a great team. :D
So Saturday we packed the truck, and Sunday we unloaded it. Basically, it all went well. We have lots and lots of boxes decorating our living room and dining room (but most of them are out of the kitchen – yay!), and there are several (45-60) boxes still at my parents’ place. My daughter, when we talk about going home, says, “Are we going to the new house? We get to live there forever? Yay! We get to live there forEVER!”
Awww!
At any rate, I’m claiming victory over the move. My mom thinks we’ll be unpacked by Christmas. That would be seriously awesome, to be able to put up our new-to-us tree (belonged to the former owner, and is now slightly broken after a trip down the stairs), and invite my parents over for pizza and presents.
